INSTRUCTIONS:
- Place grid paper on board. Center fusible interfacing on grid and pin to board.
- Cut 10 lengths of the Gold Trims - 13" each.
- Pin these trims over interfacing using grid lines as your guide, alternating the trims. (Hint: Angle the pins away from the woven surface to make pressing easier.)
- Starting at the bottom of the grid, weave the Grosgrain, Rose Jacquared ribbon and teal bias tape from one side to the other, cutting each strip as you weave. (Be sure to keep edges close together to entirely cover interfacing.)
- Press the woven strips while still pinned to the board. Remove pins, turn fabric and press underside - creating a piece of fabric.
- Cut heart pattern from paper. Pin pattern, woven fabric and backing fabric together, then cut through all layers.
- Repeat step 6 for second heart.
- Glue Burgundy Guimpe trim around the edge of each heart, centering the middle of the trim over the raw edge and gluing 1 edge of trim to the right side of the heart and the other edge to the "lining" or backing.
- Repeat step 8 for second heart.
- Starting half way down one side, glue the two hearts together, lining to lining, around the bottom point ending equally up on the other side, leaving the top open, creating a "basket".
- Starting at the bottom point, glue the cord around the same area of the joined hearts, leave extra open at the top for the "hanger" or "handle" of the pouch (See Photo).
- Glue frog closure at inside top point of heart. Insert potpourri or flowers, add extra trim, bows, tassels, etc. for further embellishment.
- Enjoy!
