1 pkg. Wrights® Pink Jumbo Rick Rack (#117-402-061)
1 pkg. Wrights® White Jumbo Rick Rack (#117-402-030)
3 yds. Wrights® Pink Organdy Ribbon (#222-389-902)
3 yds. Wrights® Pink Taffeta Ribbon (#222-6539-902)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cut all medium rick rack into 2" pieces. (Be sure you have four complete points on the top edge and that the cut ends point in opposite directions. (See illustration 1). Illustration 2
  2. Glue rick rack ends together to form rings. (See illustration 2).
  3. Thread needle and sew points on one side of rick rack ring. (See illustration 3).
  4. Cinch together with thread and tie off but do not cut thread.
  5. Sew three beads to each flower center using existing thread. Tie off thread at back of flower and trim.

  6. Remove all pink jumbo rick rack from card.
  7. Cut rick rack into four equal pieces (approx. 22").
  8. Fold over one end of rick rack, 1/4", and glue.
  9. Lay a bead of glue down the middle of rick rack. Begin to roll and coil rick rack to form a button flower. (Glue small lengths at a time until entire length is used).
  10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 for all lengths of rick rack and set aside to dry.
  11. When flowers are dry, flare petals outward from center to form chrysanthemum.

    Rick Rack Daisies

  12. Cut white jumbo rick rack into six 15" lengths.
  13. Stitch top points together to create a row of pleated rick rack.
  14. Knot off pleats and glue raw ends together.
  15. Flare out petals to form daisy (see photo).

    Hat Assembly

  16. Tie a bow with organdy and taffeta ribbon. Tie off bow with wire and attach to hat.
  17. Arrange flowers around crown of hat and glue.
  18. Accent flowers and bow with silk leaves.
  19. Glue butterflies to hat
  20. Enjoy!
