INSTRUCTIONS:
    Basket Lid and Lining
  • Cut batting to fit top and bottom of basket lid. (If basket lid has a smooth, non-woven surface, batting is necessary only on top of lid). Apply glue along edges of batting. Adhere to top and bottom of lid.
  • Cut fabric to cover top of lid plus 2". Smooth fabric over batting, folding excess under lid. Glue edges to bottom of lid.
  • Cut a piece of fabric to fit bottom of lid. Turn edges under. Glue edges to cover raw edges of fabric folded over top of lid.
  • Cut a piece of fabric to fit bottom and sides of inside of basket. Gather and glue top edge of fabric along top inside edge of basket, leaving fabric loose but fitted at bottom of basket. Glue braid to cover gathered edge of fabric.
  • Cut two lengths of braid to fit around lid (refer to photo at right). Glue into place, starting a tbottom of lid.

    Placemat

  • Cut two 20" x 14" pieces from fabric.
  • Pin lip of cord to outside edge of right side of one piece of fabric. Overlap ends of cord. Use zipper foot to sew cord into place.
  • With right sides together, lay second piece of fabric over first. Stitch, leaving a 4" opening in side seam. Turn right side out. Press.
  • Hand sew opening closed.

    Coasters

  • Tape end of twist cord and trim 1/4" to prevent fraying.
  • Cut a 3 1/2" diameter circle from felt.
  • Mark center of circle with a marker.
  • Glue end of cord to center of circle. Coil and glue cord around center of felt, covering cord end. Continue to coil and glue until entire circle is covered.
  • Tape end of cord and glue into place. Glue silk flowers to cover taped end of cord.

    Napkin Ring

  • Tape end of cord.
  • Glue cord end to edge of napkin ring (or cardboard ring).
  • Coil and glue cord around entire ring. Tape and glue end of cord.
  • Glue silk flowers and fruit to cover taped end of cord.
  • Enjoy!
