Wrights Overalls Laundry BagOveralls Laundry Bag

You don't have to be an experienced sewer to make this unique laundry bag!!! All you have to make are a few straight seams by machine or by hand. The trims and appliqués all can be fused or glued on.

Hang it on the wall as a decoration and fill it up with laundry, then hang it over your shoulder as you head to the laundromat.

MATERIALS:
2 Wrights® Butterfly Appliqué (#193-3440-001)
2 Wrights® Daisy Appliqué (#196-1060-001)
2 Wrights® Dragonfly Appliqué (#196-3090-001)
1 Wrights® Brat Appliqué (#196-1410-001)
* Wrights® Paisley Woven Band (#183-7014-001)
* Wrights® Yellow Feather Stitch Rick Rack (#183-7120-079)
* Wrights® Purple Rick Rack (#117-401-064)
* Wrights® Hot Pink Rick Rack (#117-401-022)
* Wrights® Triangle Band (#183-7044-001)
1 Old Denim Bib Overalls
*To calculate the yardage to go around the bag, measure across front of bag from side seam to side seam, multiply by 2, and add 2".

NOTE: When gluing trim, glue raw ends under 1/4" and then overlap trim to glue again.
Wrights recycled clothesINSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Cut inseam from overalls starting at one cuff, around crotch, and to other cuff. Cut 1" from inseam as you go.
  2. Turn overalls wrong side out.
  3. Pin front of left and right inseam together. Stitch with a 1/2" seam.
  4. Repeat step 3 for back of pant.
  5. Sew bottom opening closed from side seam to side seam to create a bag. Turn right side out.
  6. You now have a laundry bag ready to decorate with trim, bands and appliques.
  7. Enjoy!

Use parts and pieces of old flannel shirts to make pillows, fabric picture frames, cover papier mache boxes...the uses are endless. All you need is your own imagination, a needle and thread or glue. Have fun with it!
