"On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, Three French Hens." True to the song, here is our french hen, comfortably sitting on her nest.

And a patch of inverted tassel fringe is just the thing to nestle in. We couldn't dress the bird so we made sure she had a fancy nest!

MATERIALS FROM YOUR "STASH": (Makes one ornament)
6" Wrights® Gold Tassel Fringe (#183-9052-046) - includes 4 tassels.
6" Wrights® Gold Metallic Cord (#183-5012-046)
1/3 yd. Wrights® Wine Gimp Braid (#183-6119-084A)
1 8" x 8" Card Stock
-- Small Sharp Scissors
-- Fabric Glue

Pattern
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Print out the front and the back of the Pattern.
  2. Sandwich card stock between the front and back, glue. NOTE: be sure the tops and bottoms are facing the right way.
  3. Following outside edges, cut all three layers of pattern.
  4. Using the photograph for reference, carefully cut and glue trims to the ornament as follows:
  5. Cut four tassels from the header band.
  6. Place and glue them upside down in the "nest", spreading out the fringe part (see photo).
  7. Glue header from tassel fringe along the bottom, over the knots of the tassels.
  8. Starting at the top, just over the hole, glue the wine gimp around the border for the frame. Glue it right over the bottom edge of the header, covering any loose threads (see photo).
  9. Thread the narrow gold metallic cord through the hole and tie in a knot for the hanger.
  10. ENJOY!
NOTE: Use as much or as little of the trim; it's up to you. Remember, the more trimmed details, the more 3-D the figure will appear to be!
