INSTRUCTIONS:
- Print out the front and the back of the Pattern.
- Sandwich card stock between the front and back, glue. NOTE: be sure the tops and bottoms are facing the right way.
- Following outside edges, cut all three layers of pattern.
- Using the photograph for reference, carefully cut and glue trims to the ornament as follows:
- Begin dressing the maiden by placing one gold pearl on the top button of her blue under dress.
- Gather up four scallops of the eyelet lace and glue it to the waist of her apron. The header will rest over the waist and the ruffled part will flare out a little, (be sure to turn back the edges of the ruffle to finish them).
- Cut two flowers from the heart and flower Venice lace and glue them to her sleeves over the cuffs.
- Cut and glue pieces of the baby rick rack over the handles and the bands on her milk pail (Be careful to leave her hands free).
- Glue a gold pearl on either side of the bucket handle.
- Tie a bow with the white ribbon, leaving tails approximately 2" long. Glue to her waist as a sash over the eyelet header. Glue the tails in a sideways pattern, to appear to be in motion.
- Make a loop and tie the narrow cord in the hole at the top for the hanger.
- Glue the metallic gimp around the entire frame, starting at the bottom at one side of the milk pail and ending at the other side.
- Tie a small bow with the red ribbon and glue at the front of her cap.
TO MAKE AN APPLIED BOW:
Cut the ribbon and make two small, standing loops, one in each hand. Tie these loops in a square knot, loosely, then take the tail ends and pull them, making the loops smaller, then pull the loops, repeating these two steps (you will see the bow getting smaller as you do this), adjusting the bow down to the size that it needs to be.
- Enjoy!
NOTE: Use as much or as little of the trim; it's up to you. Remember, the more trimmed details, the more 3-D the figure will appear to be! |
