Wrights Lady Dancing Ornament BackWell, if you're keeping up with us, and the song, we've done the 12 Drummers Drumming, 11 Pipers Piping, then the 10 Lords A-Leaping, and here is our 9 Ladies Dancing. And after all the men, it's kind of fun to dress a lady. So, as you can see, she's wearing her best embroidered Eyelet under a Venice trimmed overskirt. And at her cuffs and neck line, she's wearing hearts with pearl buttons. As a finishing touch, we did her up with a dainty Venice lace border around the frame. Notice too, as she's dancing, her hair bow is flying behind her!

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Print out the front and the back of the Pattern.
  2. Sandwich card stock between the front and back, glue. NOTE: be sure the tops and bottoms are facing the right way.
  3. Following outside edges, cut all three layers of pattern.
  4. Using the photograph for reference, carefully cut and glue trims to the ornament as follows:
  5. Cut and glue a piece of the eyelet ruffle to cover the front of her underskirt. (Note: Gather it as you go along).
  6. Cut and glue a piece of the heart venice lace to cover the header on the eyelet ruffle.
  7. With the daisy in the center, cut a piece of the heart Venice lace that will have a flower and two hearts around it to swag down on her overskirt, equally.
  8. Clip the top threads attaching the hearts on either side of the daisy, for ease in bringing it down over the sides of the overskirt. Glue.
  9. Cut three hearts from the venice lace and place two on her wrists for cuffs and the other one at her neck.
  10. Cut and glue pearls over the buttons on the front of her dress and at her cuffs.
  11. Starting at the hole in the top, glue the dainty venice lace around the frame, being sure to keep it at the very edge (you will need to ease it a little bit to get around the top and bottom).
  12. Loop and tie the gold cord in the hole for the hanger.
  13. Tie a small, applied bow (see below) and glue it to her hair. (Notice how the long tails are flying as she dances. You can do this by gathering up the ribbon ends and gluing it down.
    TO MAKE AN APPLIED BOW:
Cut the satin ribbon and make two small, standing loops, one in each hand. Tie these loops in a square knot, loosely, then take the tail ends and pull them, making the loops smaller, then pull the loops, repeating these two steps (you will see the bow getting smaller as you do this), adjusting the bow down to the size that it needs to be for the Dancing Lady's hair.
  14. Enjoy!

NOTE: Use as much or as little of the trim; it's up to you. Remember, the more trimmed details, the more 3-D the figure will appear to be!

Your Lady Dancing is ready for your Holiday Decorating!
