INSTRUCTIONS:
House
- Trace and cut pattern pieces from board.
- Line up and glue front, back, 2 sides and bottom together (see photo).
Note: Option A: If using double sided adhesive sheets, trace pattern and cut all parts except the bottom. Remove one sheet of paper and apply to house - then remove top sheet a little at a time as you go. Option B: If using tape, apply one row at a time as you work.
- Starting at the back corner, at the bottom, begin taping the red bias tape one row at a time - overlapping each row as you go.
- To do the peaks on the front and back, cut each row separately and glue (don't worry about the ends - they will be covered.)
- Cover all edges and corners with red bias tape (see photo) - folding over to cover raw edge of board.
- Using the green cord, cover the front and back edges from the bottom, over the peak, to the opposite bottom.
- Trace and cut door and window patterns out of black felt. For the windows, use the white middy braid as shown in the photo for panes, with pieces of bias tape for shutters. For the door - again use pieces of bias tape for the panels. Glue all in place around house.
Removable Roof (optional)
- Trace pattern & cut from board.
- Score the roof in the center for the "peak". Fold on score.
- With pinking shears, cut several 1" long pieces from the taupe bias tape.
- Apply double stick tape or sheet to roof.
- Place and glue one row of small pieces just over edge and start gluing and overlapping pieces one at a time - working in one direction to the peak - turning and repeating the same for the other side. (Glue one piece of bias tape lengthwise over edges at the peak.)
- Trim the entire edge of the roof with the striped cord.
- Cover small triangular supports with pieces of red bias tape - glue to peak in roof. (This forms angle).
- Place over peaks of house - decorate with flowers, appliques and greens.
- Enjoy!
