Beaded Band HeadbandBeaded Headband

A headband is the best way to keep unruly hair in place and even help hide "bad hair". This one can dress you up, too. It is perfect for the holidays to add just that right amount of glitter to your "do". It's quick and easy and inexpensive.

MATERIALS:
1/2 yd. Wrights® 1 3/4" Beaded Trim (#186-3333-528)
1/4 yd. Wrights® 1/2" Knitted Elastic (#862-973-030)
1/8 yd. Coordinating Fabric for Lining
Misc. Scissors, Needle and Thread

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cut trim to 15" length.
  2. Cut lining fabric 2" x 15".
  3. Fold and iron 1/4" seam down each long side of lining fabric.
  4. Pin trim and lining fabric wrong sides together. Topstitch along sides.
  5. Cut one 11" x 2 1/4" piece of lining fabric.
  6. Fold lining fabric lengthwise, wrong sides together. Sew 1/4" seam making a tube. Turn right side out.
  7. Feed elastic through tube. Push fabric up and sew at each end.
  8. Fold raw end of head band up 1/4". Place one end of elastic tube in the center. Sew in place (see photo 1).
  9. Fold one side of headband over tube, then the other side. Sew in place (see photo 2).
  10. Repeat step 9 and 10 on opposite end of the head band.
  11. ENJOY
