Rose Embellished Shoes This is the season of embellishment. We are decorating everything right from our heads to our feet. Speaking of feet, we have a way to embellish your shoes. Simply go to your favorite discount store and purchase an inexpensive pair of fabric slides. Then just follow our easy directions here to dress them up. Attach the rose decorations with hook and loop tape and change them out to match every spring and summer outfit! (Click on image for larger view)

INSTRUCTIONS: Cut ribbon in half. Measure in 2 1/2" from end of ribbon, sew one stitch at ribbon edge. Thread beads randomly to 1/2" to 3/4" in length and stitch in place at ribbon's edge (see illus. 1). Continue this process for 8". Tie off thread. Leave 2 1/2" blank and repeat step #3 for 3". Tie off to secure. Beginning at the same starting point, fold ribbon diagonally at end (see illus. 2). Roll folded ribbon from letter B to letter A. This is the center of your rose (see illus. 3). Stitch rose center at letter C (see illus. 3). Turn long end of ribbon over one turn (see illus. 4). Roll ribbon to form first petal, stitch in place (see illus. 5). Continue to roll and stitch each ribbon petal. Repeat step #6 at the space in ribbon where there aren't any beads. Continue to roll and stitch till you have desired fullness. Cut any excess ribbon, fold under and sew ribbon end. Stitch through rose base and up and down through some of the petals to secure and form the rose. Cut a 3 1/2" circle from silk fabric. Gather center of fabric with needle and thread. Glue or sew rose onto silk circle. Glue or sew onto side of shoe. (Hint: you may also use hook and loop tape or dots to change out your flowers). Enjoy!
