Our church can be easily made and then kept as a keepsake memory from the bridal shower or the wedding itself. It's easy to do with our method from the bias tape village houses, only it's a 3D building!
Give it as a useful gift to the bride and groom and after the wedding, they can either leave it as is, or take the top off with the church
and have a keepsake memory of the wedding!

INSTRUCTIONS:
Transfer church walls and roof patterns to foam board. Transfer steeple patterns to cardboard.
Cut church pieces from board (including window openings) with craft knife. Set steeple and roof aside.
Assemble church walls. Hot glue side walls to inside edge of front and back pieces (see illustration 1).
Remove protective paper from one side of adhesive. Cover entire
church with adhesive. Once the church is covered, do not pull
protective paper from the second side of adhesive. If using
double sided tape, do not overlap adhesive edges.
Trim any excess adhesive from all edges of church peeks and
window openings.
Peel back protective paper along bottom edge of church to expose
approximately 1" of adhesive.
Place white bias tape over adhesive, starting and stopping at
back corner. Align the folded edge of tape with the bottom edge of the
church. This is your first row of siding.
For next row of siding, lay a second row of bias tape onto
adhesive, even with and slightly overlapping the first row.
Continue to peel back protective paper from adhesive and apply
bias tape to church until you have covered entire building (including
windows) to the bottom of the peek.
Continue to cover the peeks with strips of bias tape (see illustration 2).
Trim all excess bias tape from church peeks and window openings
with craft knife or scissors.
Cut four strips of white bias tape 6" long.
Fold bias tape in half the long way and finger press.
Glue folded bias tape to corners of the church (half on front
and around to the side) to cover raw ends of bias tape and cardboard.
Add extra bias tape to corners if necessary (See photo).
Cut four strips of white bias tape 5" long.
Follow steps 13 and 14 to finish peek lines of church (See
photo).
Glue window and door appliqués to front of church (See photo). Set church aside.
Roof
Find center of cardboard (the short way) and make a slight score (See
illustration 3).
Cover one entire side of cardboard with adhesive.
Cut two 5" pieces of gray bias tape.
Glue strips at sides of roof to cover raw ends of board.
Cut dark gray bias tape into 1" pieces. These are the roof
"shingles".
Lay one row of shingles over adhesive along the bottom edge of
roof. The cut edge of the shingles should overlap the end of the
cardboard.
Continue to lay rows of shingles to the score line of roof - approximately 6 rows (See illustration 4).
Repeat steps 20-24 for second side of roof.
Cut a hole in one side of the roof approximately 7" x 1" (this is the opening for the cards).
Finish off the raw edges of the hole by glueing bias tape half on the top and around to the inside.
Glue roof to church.
Cut one strip of cardboard 1" x 9". This is your roof cap.
Slightly score the entire length of roof cap with craft knife;
fold.
Cover roof cap with two strips of gray bias tape. Fold bias
tape under at ends of cap.
Glue cap to roof.
Steeple
Cover one side of steeple pieces with adhesive.
Cover steeple with white bias tape using same technique as the
church walls and peeks.
Glue the three pieces of the steeple together.
Glue steeple to church (see photo).
Adding Church to Box
Determine where you are going to place the church on the top of
the round box, and trace around it lightly and cut a hole 1" smaller than your tracing.
Cover the box with your fabric and decorate with different trims,
ribbons and pearls (see our photo for ideas).
Glue the church in place over the hole.
Place the grass down and add bits of greens and flowers to create the landscape around it.
