Hey Kids!
This butterfly makes a neat decoration to wear - glue it to your baseball cap, barrette or back pack ...or decorate things in your room!
To let the butterfly flutter in your window, simply hang it from a ribbon or string.

MATERIALS (makes two butterflies):
1 1/2 yds. Wrights® 1 1/2" Double Face Satin Ribbon (#223-729-064)
2 Straight Pins With Plastic Heads
2 Clothespins (real ones work better than the craft type)
2 Twist Ties (the type from bread bags)
-- Paint (in various bright colors)
1 Paint Brush
-- Glue
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Paint the clothespins with the bright colored paint. Set aside to dry. (May need 2 coats).
  2. Bend the straight pins to form the antennas. Insert into head of each clothespin.
  3. For the wings, cut 2 lengths of ribbon 11" long for top wings and two lengths of ribbon 9" long for bottom of wings.
  4. Overlap ends of ribbon and glue in place, forming a ring.
  5. Do the same for all the ribbon pieces. (You will have two small and 2 large for each butterfly).
  6. Take one large and one small ring and gather together (the glued part should be in the center). Hold them tight and fasten with the twist tie.
  7. Slip the ribbon wings into the clothespin with the larger wing at the top.
  8. Decorate the wings by painting them with bright colors; circles and loops work best. Let dry.
  9. Enjoy!
