Denim Gift PocketDenim Gift Pocket

We've included these denim gift pockets in our kids crafts section, as we think any child will love to make them and stuff them with candy, greens, and toys. They can also use them as a tree decoration, or tuck money in them for the perfect re-usable gift holder.

MATERIALS:
1 Wrights® Appliqué of your choice
18" Wrights® 5/8" Red Grosgrain Ribbon (#223-143-065)
7" Wrights® White Medium Rick Rack (#117-401-030)
1 Old Denim Shirt with Pocket
-- Copper Wire
-- Fabri-tac Fabric Glue
-- Felt
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Cut pocket from shirt leaving 1/2" extra fabric around entire border of pocket. Illustration
  2. Clip extra fabric around curved edges for ease in pressing (see illustration).
  3. Glue all extra fabric to back of pocket.
  4. Iron appliqué to front of pocket following instructions on back of appliqué package.
  5. Cut a 5 1/2" piece of grosgrain ribbon. Glue ribbon 1/4" from top of pocket, leaving 1/4" on each end. Glue ends around to the back of the pocket.
  6. Glue rick rack over grosgrain ribbon. Wrap ends around to back side and glue.
  7. Using the pocket as a pattern, cut a piece of felt. Glue felt to back of pocket to finish.
  8. Wrap copper wire around a pencil to make a curled hanger (Refer to project photo).
  9. Punch a hole 1/2" from top and side of pocket at top corners of pocket (refer to project photo for placement).
  10. Feed 1" of wire through each hole and twist to secure in place.
  11. Tie a bow with remaining ribbon and glue to upper left-hand corner.
  12. Fill with candy, money etc.
  13. Enjoy!
