Wrights Pencil Holder for Father's DayPencil Holder

Remember when you created a pencil holder from a soup can for your Mom or Dad? It was as appreciated as a masterpiece of art would have been.

We decided to design one here as a part of our Kids Crafts for Father's Day. Simply pick a sport or hobby that Dad enjoys and design around it!

MATERIALS:
1 pkg. Wrights® Yellow Rick Rack (#117-410-086)
20" Wrights® 1/4" Blue Satin Ribbon (#223-718-050)
1 pkg. Wrights® Golf Club Appliqués (#852-0)
1 pkg. Wrights® Star Appliqués (package of 4) (#238-0)
1 pkg. Wrights® Red Quilt Binding (#117-706-065)
1 5" x 12" Red Felt
-- Fabric-tac
-- Tin Can (Empty soup can)
INSTRUCTIONS:
    Wrights Pencil Holder - Western style
  1. Remove label from tin can.
  2. Glue a strip of quilt binding to the top edge of the can. This will hide the edge and cover the rough surface on the inside of the can.
  3. Cover the outside of the can with a piece of felt. Overlap the ends of the felt in the back and glue in place. The felt should run along the top and bottom edge of the can. Trim excess felt.
  4. Glue a strip of blue ribbon around the top and bottom edge of the can to hide the raw edges of the felt (see project photo).
  5. Glue a strip of rick rack around the top and bottom edge of the can, 1/2" from ribbon (see project photo).
  6. Center and glue golf appliqué to can.
  7. Glue star appliqués to can (see project photo for placement).
  8. Enjoy!
