Scare up some great fun with this creepy crawly spider! Great for decorating or hanging in the window.

MATERIALS:
4 yds. Wrights® 3/16" Black Rayon Twisted Cord (#183-6141-031)
3 1/2 yds. Wrights® 2 ply Black Twisted Cord (#183-6320-031)
1 pkg. Wrights® Orange Medium Rick Rack (#117-401-058)
1 set Googly Eyes
8 pcs. 24 Gauge Wire (12" long)
-- Hot Glue or Fabric Glue
-- 3" Styrofoam Ball
-- 1 1/2" Styrofoam Ball
INSTRUCTIONS:
    Illustration 1Body
  1. Secure end of 2 ply twisted cord with adhesive tape. Trim leaving 1/4" of tape on end of cord (see illustration 1).
  2. Glue taped end of cord to ball. Illustration 2
  3. Begin to coil and glue cord around itself on ball (see illustration 2).
  4. Continue to coil and glue cord until entire ball is covered.
  5. Tape final end of cord and glue to center of final coil.
  6. Add three strips of rick rack to bottom of body (see photo for placement)

    Head

  7. Repeat steps 1 - 5 for head using 3/16" rayon twisted cord.
  8. Glue eyes to head.
  9. Glue a small piece of rick rack to head for the mouth (see photo for placement).
  10. Glue head to body.

    Legs

  11. Measure 7 1/2" from end of 3/16" cord and at that point secure with adhesive tape (see illustration 3).
  12. Cut through center of taped cord for 2 secured ends (see illustration 3).
  13. Continue to cut and tape cord for a total of four 7 1/2" pieces and four 6" pieces.
  14. Cut ends of wire on an angle to create a sharp point.
  15. Push pointed end of wire through taped end of cord and through the entire length of cord. Illustration 4
  16. Continue to wire each length of cord for a total of eight legs.
  17. Create a foot at one end of each leg by coiling approximately 1 1/2" of cord (see illustration 4). You now have 4 short legs and 4 long legs.
  18. Poke 8 holes into the body for the insertion of the legs (see illustration 5).
  19. Put a small amount of glue at the end of each leg and insert into holes in body.
  20. Poke a hole into the back of the body. Glue a piece of cord and insert into the hole for a hanger.
  21. Enjoy!
