Here is the coolest project for kids to make for back to school. The trinket box can hold pencils, small note pads, extra photos, jewelry, anything special, AND be personalized with a favorite photo on top. Store your summer memories or new school ones in the box! Make more than one to sort out special things for safe keeping! It doesn't need a lot of supplies or tools to make and can be finished in a short time! Just what's needed for those last days of summer.

Measurements are based on an 8 1/4"L x 6 1/2"W x 3 3/8"H box with cover.

MATERIALS:
1 pkg. Wrights® 5/8" Rainbow Jumbo Rick Rack (#117-404-001)
1 pkg. Wrights® Flower, Dog and Cat Appliqués (#193-7469-001)
1 pkg. Wrights® Fish, Frog and Flower Appliqués (#193-7485-001)
1 yd.7/8" Bright Pink Grosgrain Ribbon (or the circumference of your box) (#219-145-022)
3 sheets9" x 12" Glitter Felt (We used bright yellow, orange and green.)
1Box with Cover (light weight wood or cardboard/papier mache)
--Misc.: Craft Glue, Pen Knife, Ruler

INSTRUCTIONS:
    Trace
    Photo 1
  1. Trace the bottom of the box onto the backside of the green felt. Cut out and glue onto the bottom of the box.
  2. Trace cover of the box onto the back side of the yellow felt. Cut out and glue onto the top of the box.
  3. Measure circumference of the sides of the cover and add 2" (Photo 1). Cut ribbon to this length.
  4. Repeat step 3 with Rick Rack.
  5. Glue Rick Rack over the center of ribbon.
  6. Glue ribbon around the entire cover. Fold over the last inch and glue over first edge for a clean finish.
  7. Cut orange felt using photo holder template.
  8. Apply glue along outer edge of 3 sides of the back of the photo holder. Position on top of box (See photo).
  9. Glue appliqués onto frame (See photo).
  10. Measure height of box minus height of cover (This will ensure that the cover will still fit easily) (see Photo 1).
  11. Measure circumference of box and divide by 3. Cut strips of each color felt to this length by the measurement reached in step 10.
  12. Position around sides (see photo 1). Glue.
  13. Glue appliqués to center of each circle. Glue onto sides of box (See photo 2).
  14. ENJOY!
