Carry your favorite things in this secret pocket necklace. It's just big enough to keep your favorite photo, locker key or lunch money. It's so easy to make. All you need is some ribbon scraps from Mom's sewing box and a little cord. Make several to match your different styles!

Also, if you're a sewer or do needlework, this is a perfect place to keep your scissors and extra needles.

MATERIALS:
8" Wrights® Black 2 1/4" Double Face Satin Ribbon (#223-726-031)
36" Wrights® Turquoise Silky Cord (#184-6307-069)
12" Wrights® Feather Stitch Rick Rack (#184-7120-069)
2 Wrights® 1 1/4" Black Tiny Tassels (#183-9053-031)
3 Wrights® Flower Appliqué (#196-1750-001)
-- Fabric Glue
-- Needle and Thread
INSTRUCTIONS:
    Trinket necklaces-alternatives
  1. Fold over each raw end of ribbon 1/2" and glue in place.
  2. Fold over each end of ribbon 1/2" again for a clean edge (see illustration 1).
  3. Fold ribbon in half the long way and finger press a sharp crease (see illustration 2).
  4. Glue the cord of each tassel onto each side of the crease (see illustration 2).
  5. Lay a bead of glue onto inner long edges of ribbon and press together to form a pouch (see project photo).
  6. Glue one end of silky cord into each top corner of pouch. (Optional: Sew silky cord into each corner for reinforcement).
  7. Press appliqués onto front of pouch following instructions of package.
  8. Glue a strip of rick rack around bottom edge of pouch (see project photo). Repeat a second strip at the top edge of pouch. Be sure to begin and end rick rack at back of pouch and overlap ends to finish.
