This card is simple and beautiful and can easily be made by a child of any age. It teaches basic cutting, weaving and paper crafts.

Make a bunch and give them to everyone you love!!!

MATERIALS:
1/2 yd. Wrights® 5/8" Hot Pink Ribbon (#223-723-022)
1/2 yd. Wrights® 5/8" Purple Ribbon (#223-723-064)
1 1/2 yds. Wrights® 3/8" Hot Pink Ribbon (#223-721-963)
2 8 1/2" x 11" Light Weight Card Stock (Light pink or light color of choice)
-- Hole Puncher
-- Adhesive Tape
Pattern
INSTRUCTIONS:
    Picture 1
  1. Print the card pattern onto the pink card stock. Let dry for a few minutes.
  2. Cut the outside of the card from the paper. Cut the heart shape from the front of the card only following the dotted line.
  3. Punch the holes around the border of the card with a hole puncher. Be sure to keep the card closed so that you punch both the front and back of the card at the same time.
  4. Cut five 3 1/2" pieces of pink ribbon.
  5. Lay the strips over the opening of the heart and then tape the top edges of the ribbon to the card (see picture 1). The sides of the ribbon should touch one another. Be careful not to cover any holes with tape.
  6. Weave a purple ribbon over and under the pink ribbons. Push the purple ribbon all the way to the tape (see picture 2). Cut the ends of the purple ribbon very close to the edge of the pink ribbons. Picture 2
  7. Weave a second piece of purple ribbon under then over to create a check pattern (see picture 2).
  8. Continue to weave two more pieces of ribbon.
  9. Tape the bottom edges of the ribbon to the card. Tape the side edges of the ribbon to the card. Again, be careful not to cover any holes with tape.
  10. Beginning at the top center of the card, lace the 3/8" ribbon in and out of the holes on the outside edge of the card. Be sure not to lace the font and back of the card together. Glue the two ends of the ribbon together.
  11. Lace the remaining ribbon through the two center holes at the top of the card and tie a bow (see project picture).
  12. Lace the back flap of the card like you did the front side with a second piece of ribbon.
  13. Cut and glue a 4" x 5" piece of paper over the back of the woven heart to hide all the tape. Sign the card and give it to your favorite valentine.
