• Row 1:Beginning cluster in ring, chain 3, * cluster in ring, chain 3.* Repeat between * * 4 times. Join with slip stitch to top of cluster. (6 clusters and 6 chain 3 spaces)
• Row 2: Slip stitch in first chain 3 space. Beginning cluster, chain 3, cluster, in same space. Chain 3. * in next chain 3 space: cluster, chain 3, cluster, chain 3.* Repeat between * * around. Join with slip stitch to top of beginning cluster. (12 clusters and 12 chain 3 spaces).

• Row 5: Chain 6, double crochet in same space. * in top of next cluster: double crochet, chain 3, double crochet.* Repeat between * * around. Join with slip stitch in 3rd chain of beginning chain 6. (48 double crochets and 24 chain 3 spaces).
• Row 6: Slip stitch in first chain 3 space. In same chain 3 space beginning cluster, chain 3, cluster. * in next chain 3 space, cluster, chain 3, cluster.* Repeat between * * around. Join with slip stitch to top of beginning cluster.
• Row 7: Slip stitch into first chain 3 space. Chain 6, double crochet in same space. * in next chain 3 space, double crochet, chain 3, double crochet.* Repeat between * * around. Join with a slip stitch in 3rd chain of beginning chain 6.
• Rows 8 through 15: Repeat rows 6 and 7, ending with row 7.

• Row 17: Chain 2.   Handle:
  

• Chain 4 (This counts as chain 3 in beginning cluster). In 4th chain from hook, beginning cluster, chain 3, cluster. *Turn work, slip stitch in chain 3 space. In same chain 3 space, beginning cluster, chain 3, cluster.* Repeat between * * 29 times. Finish off.
• Stiffen with fabric stiffener and shape (using an 8 oz. cool whip container that has been covered with plastic wrap); lay handle flat on plastic wrap to dry. After drying, attach handle using crochet thread and decorate.
• Weave Whimsicle ribbon through handle of basket and around rim of basket.
• Apply heart appliqués around body of basket.
