INSTRUCTIONS:
- To begin, chain 4, join to form a ring.
- Rd 1: Ch 3 (Counts as 1 dc) work 12 dc in ring, (13 dc in all).
- Rd 2: Ch 3, work 1 dc in same space (counts as 2 dc), 2 dc in each dc all around, sl st into top of beginning ch 3 (26 dc in all).
- Rd 3: Ch 3, work 1 dc in same space (counts as 2 dc), 1 dc in next dc (2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc) repeat all around ending with sl st in top of ch 3 (39 dc in all).
- Rd 4: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), working in back loops only, dc in each dc all around, add 1 dc before sl st in top of beginning ch 3 (40 dc in all).
- Rd 5: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) dc in each dc all around, sl st into top of beginning ch 3. (40 dc in all).
- Rd 6: (Skip 1 dc, 3 dc in next dc, skip 1 dc, sc in next dc) repeat all around, (10, 3 dc shells in all).
- Rd 7: Sl st to space between 1st and 2nd dcs, (ch 3, skip next dc, sc in space between 2nd and 3rd dc, ch 3, sc in space between 1st and 2nd dc in next shell). Continue all around.
- Rd 8: Sl st to center of same loop (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc in that loop, sc in next loop) repeat all around ending with sl st into 1st loop.
- Rd 9: Sl st to 1st ch 1 space, (ch 3, sc in next ch 1 space) continue all around.
- Rd 10: Repeat Rd 8.
- Rd 11: Repeat Rd 9.
To Work Handle
- Ch 40, count over 9 loops on top of basket from base of chain, from right side of handle chain, attach in next sc, sl st across ch 3 loop. Turn around.
- 1st half of Row 12: Ch 1 (dc into next loop, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc in same loop, sc in next loop), repeat to other side of handle. Starting at base of handle going up right side of handle, skip 1st dc, 2 sc in each ch 1 space all across handle to other side, skip last dc on handle, sl st into space between dc on handle and shell. End off.
- 2nd half of Row 12: On other side of handle attach thread at base of handle, ch 1, repeat 1st half of row 12, do not end off, sl st in 1st space between 1st and 2nd dc in 1st shell.
- Rd 13: Sc in same space (ch 3 in next ch 1 space) repeat 3 times, ch 3 to next shell. Repeat all around to base of handle, should be 5 shells. Ch 3, sc in next shell and repeat 1st half. End off.
- Stiffen with Aleene's 2 in 1 fabric stiffener draping liquid, following directions on package.
